Graphic Inspector pour Mac

I was hoping to use this app to detect problems in pfd files, but it just hangs at "Gathering info..." when a pdf is opened.

Downloaded and tried out the trial. I wanted/needed to compare two DDS graphic files I had, which were displaying differently on another device, to see what the discrepancies were. First, the UI looked a little busy. I just wanted to open a file and see the details. And what were the Checkup Presets for? Confusing. Second, got a spinning beachball for about a minute and then a dialog box popped up asking me Where is iMagine Photo.app? Huh?? Don't have that on my drive. Third, MUSI, I'm assuming you're the developer after giving this app such a glowing review...maybe after fixing these and adding in support for DDS files, I'll raise my rating above one star.

Excellent software. I bought this immediately after trying the demo. I never bought a preflight app ($$$) but used one years ago at the company I worked for, so I was really happy to see this app here (actually it happened to be the daily special)! I always checked my files manually, which took time. It so happened that I was finishing up a job at the time of this purchase so I got to really use it, in addition to testing it out on other things. This program is extremely stable, and for a 1.0 release, is well-thought out in its design and inclusion of features. You can make presets for the different job types you want to check, such as print work, web, etc. Because the presets are so very customizable and flexible, I was very happy to see I can even make presets for different print house or service bureau requirements; i.e. some print shops don't want any profile embedded, whereas another one requires their profile embedded, etc. These requirements can be easily setup as presets specifically for each of these companies. You can set it up either as "Does contain xx" or "Does not contain xx", whichever you like better. Very nice. It even deals with EXIF info too. When it flags, it also tells you what the problem is with the file, such as it being a RGB, JPEG, wrong resolution, etc. even though you can also see the problem just by looking at the list fields. When you click on a flagged item, down below in a field is the problem(s) written in red. Another great thing is that the results don't just stop there-by clicking on the item, not only does it tell you the problem, but you can either reveal its location in the finder, or open the original for editing. If you are in the market for a preflight/inspector, look no further-really. This company has done an excellent job and the price is an added bonus (thank you developer!). Easy to use; very low or non-existent learning curve.

This looked like something I could use a lot. But I've tried the demo on two machines now (1 PPC/1 Intel 10.4.8) and the very first thing I tried give the same error when trying to scan the User Pictures folder: an Applescript error "Finder can't get every file of alias ":Pictures:". Anyone else had any success with this?
